Guitar Arrangement: That’s What Friends Are For Fingerstyle Tabs
One of the fine compositions of Burt Bacharach is the song called “That’s What Friends Are For”. The song was first recorded by Rod Stewart but the popular rendition of the song is the cover version of Dione Warwick and Friends in 1985.

The arrangement that I have here for That’s What Friends Are For is in C Major key. On the intro part, I tried to imitate the famous intro of the song. But it is kinda hard to finger on the higher octave, and so I decided to use the lower octave. In that manner, the player would have an ease on the fingering since it is on the C Major chord 1st position. Notice the easy fingering of the intro in the structure of C chord:
On the latter part of the intro, measure 3, here you’ll encounter the musical grace note Acciaccatura. To play this, you must strike the note as quickly as possible before the principal note to achieve an almost simultaneous sound. Then you have to prepare your left hand finger for a full barre on the first fret, measure 4.
